I went on a half day racing day at Silverstone back in August 1999. It was a surprise birthday present off my wife, which was nice.
You get about 2.5 hours track time with an hour or so before hand talking about the track, safety etc.. and half and hour afterwards for a de-brief. The formula fords are fun to drive - they're only 1600cc XR2 engines, but when it is a chassis that weighs bugger all, they go quite fast! The next course up is racing in formula 3000 cars - more powerful, better tyres, more downforce, etc. Its a lot more expensive though as its a 5 day course...
